Midwinter Update From the Writing Desk
Hello, friends. It’s been a while. We’re nearly halfway through February already, and there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes here. Time for an update. I was blessed to be able to travel to India over the Christmas holiday to attend a wedding. It was the trip of a lifetime that dazzled me in every way possible. The natural beauty, the food, the people, and the gorgeous sites we visited hold a place among the best experiences of my life.
After 21 hours of flying, waiting, and flying some more, my husband and I returned home on New Year’s Eve. A fantastic end to our year!
Once we reached terra firma back in the US, I shifted into a reflective yet purposeful mode regarding my creative goals for 2024. While 2023 was good to me, it wasn’t as creatively productive as I would have liked. My first order of business on 1/1/24 was to ditch social media. I’m planning on silent season away from the notifications and distraction of it to last through Lent.
Speaking of which, I launched a line of printed products in early November under the brand name Triple Ginger Press. It’s so named for my three red-haired children, who are a constant source of inspiration and love to me. Amazon is my printer and distributor. One of the products is a 40-day devotional just in time for those who observe Lent. You can purchase it HERE along with my other products, which include journals and a coloring book. I’ll add more items throughout 2024.
I’m also working on a historical fiction novel set during the 1930s in the mountains of what is now Shenandoah National Park. It follows a woman named Polly, who finds herself and her family confronted with a number of challenges that push her to her limit as a wife, mother, and mountain dweller. Progress is slow and steady, which I’m hoping will win the molasses-paced race to get it published.
Hoping your 2024 is off to a good start and that good and lovely things rise up to meet you this year. Thank you for sharing some of your online space with me. I appreciate your readership and support and look forward to sharing more updates in 2024.
With Love and Gratitude,
